A Mountain of Data
Druva is a data management company offering cloud storage and data protection services. Gen City Labs was commissioned to produce an engaging activation to drive traffic to the Druva booth during their conference tour.
To complement Druva’s partnership with actor and strongman The Mountain (as seen on HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones), GCL created a climbing game. Using a Kinect camera to track gestures, guests played by simply moving their arms in a climbing motion to guide their avatar up a mountain of data. As the players climbed, they collected terabytes of information to send to the Druva cloud from the mountain summit. High scores were shown on a separate leader board monitor in the space to generate competition, and excitement.
The competitive game play encouraged return traffic and kept guests engaged while waiting for their photo opportunity with The Mountain, while also underscoring Druva’s data management services.
